Jeff Fahrensohn is a former Auckland Council inspections manager with decades of experience in New Zealand’s building industry. Starting his career as a building inspector in 1996, he worked his way up through roles as senior inspector, team leader, and training/competency manager before leading the inspections team for Auckland. With a background in design and construction, Jeff has overseen hundreds of thousands of inspections, collaborated closely with other BCAs, MBIE, and industry bodies, and is deeply involved in improving quality assurance, remote inspections, and risk‑based consenting across residential, commercial, and multi‑unit developments.
